Ginger’s Music of Oklahoma City is a Music and Movement program (MusikGarten) for children, birth – 8 years old. This program is Nationally recognized as a program that follows your child through each stage of their age- appropriate development. R and L and I attended class for a few weeks and really enjoyed ourselves. There was a wide variety of music as well as instruments that were great for the 1 and 3 year olds. R seemed to do better in the class, but that may have just been a maturity issue. The biggest cons to the class actually had nothing to do with the class itself. Sessions were about half an hour (which was great because it was about all my kids could handle), but I live about half an hour from the studio. It’s not really worth it to me to drive an hour for a 30 minute class. If I lived closer, I would be more apt to consider it. The other issue is the cost. It’s $230 for a 15 week session. While the tuition fee isn’t bad for the amount of time, the fact that I would have two or three kids enrolled makes it cost prohibitive to my family. However, I do think it would be wonderful for an only child or even an “experience” Christmas or birthday gift. For the most part, it was a wonderful experience for two of my kids and I’m glad they enjoyed it. It was so much fun watching them through it all.
